INVIGORATING WEDNESDAY

Woman washing back outdoorssrc="

Dry-skin brushing is very beneficial for the lymph systems. It removes dead cells and helps keep your 'temple' glowing.

Dry-skin brush for around 3 minutes in the mornings before you shower. This will stimulate circulation and reduces the appearance of cellulite.

How; you will need a natural bristle or plant-fibre long-handled brush. Start at the soles of your feet and working your way up your body always brush in the direction of the heart.

Then take a shower and smother yourself in body lotion or organic coconut oil.

Yummy red cabbage recipe

  • onions
  • red cabbage
  • veggie stock
  • wine
  • flour
  • olive oil
  • Himalayan salt

what to do;

Sauté onions in olive oil, add chopped cabbage, a glass of white wine, veggie stock and salt. Simmer for 30 minutes until the cabbage is cooked. Add a spoon of flour to thicken the gravy.

This was delicious together with green beans, carrots and 'shrooms lightly sautéd with onions in a little veggie broth. Add a huge salad and you have a healthy meal.

More Urban Goddess inspiration (Lulu McNamara);

Plants in the house can literally breathe life into a room. An Urban Goddess fills her home with flowers as often as possible - there is no better way to enhance the spirit of a room.

PERFECT TUESDAY

Candles and bottles of oil, arranged in two rows

Would you eat what you put on your skin?
Finding good chemical-free products at a reasonable price is very difficult.
I was lucky enough to stumble onto a wonderful brand called Victorian Garden.

These products are created by hand using original Victorian recipes from the 1800's. The products do not contain any synthetic ingredients and are all completely natural. Cellular regeneration is the key to a youthful skin and The Victorian Garden products are packed with nutrients and proteins which feed and energise the skin. Essential oils (plant oils) can calm your nervous system, alleviate stress and improve health. Traditional herbs and flowers and African indigenous plants have long been known for their therapeutic and medicinal properties and their antiseptic and healing powers have been used for centuries both medicinally and cosmetically. The products are all made by an experienced Herbalist/Aromatherapist registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of SA, the Aroma Forum of SA, the Aromatherapy Society of SA and the International Guild of Professional Practitioners (UK). Beauty Without Cruelty International (White list approved member).

So, having said this I feel 100% safe in using the products on my skin - in fact I would definitely eat the ingredients.

Pulses - low in fat and high in complex carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Pulses are economical, easy to cook and good to eat. They freeze well and are a valuable source of protein and good for diabetics, as they help to control sugar levels.

Today I am grateful for;

  • the all-clear I received from my Onc
  • the yummy banana and spinach smoothie I just glugged
  • the gorgeous roses
  • sunshine, sunshine 'n more sunshine

-is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly - Buddha (thanx for your wise words Buddha)

Go for a hike, swim, laugh, pick flowers - do something creative. Do what makes you feel alive on this 'whopping' Tuesday.
