FRIDAY LATE - THE RESULT OF SURFING
living life in peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you will join us,
and the world will live as one.

How Toxins affect Hormones
There are toxins in the environment that have a direct impact on our hormones. They are hormone like substances that act in a similar way to human hormones when they enter the body. Though modern life has given us many conveniences, it has also given us substances that never existed in nature but that we are exposed to. Xeno-oestrogens are foreign substances that are not real oestrogen but act like it. These are chemicals found in substances like plastics and pesticides. Researchers believe that even though they are not real oestrogen, their effect in the body is to add to the total oestrogen level. This is a problem because oestrogen should be in balance with progesterone. The balance exists in the ratio between the two hormones, not their levels. If you have a higher amount of oestrogen compared to your progesterone you are in oestrogen dominance. Oestrogen dominance can put a woman at risk of developing oestrogen-dependent cancers such as breast cancer. It is the liver's task to take apart and detoxify xeno-oestrogens. Supporting the health of your liver is critical for your overall good health.

WEDNESDAY - NATIONAL BANDANA DAY:14 OCTOBER 2009
Chris painted the original "Sunflowers of Hope" painting while in isolation and copies of this now hang in all the transplant units in South Africa, as well as one in New Zealand and Australia. Chris saw donors as 'seeds of hope' for patients suffering as he was - hence the name "Sunflowers of Hope".
"Sunflowers of Hope"was painted by Chris Corlett before his death. Others, in their days of darkness, have done the same. Let the sunflower be a tribute to all those that have not survived and a symbol of hope to all patients in the future. (Information courtesy of the Sunflower fund website)
Please make a point of purchasing a bandana. At a cost of R20- you will be bringing hope to many leukaemia patients. I have been buying bandanas ever since the inception and have a really cool collection.
My pups and I proudly wear the bandanas knowing that my small donation has made a huge difference.
There are loads of different uses for all you creative peeps out there;
- pups look ultra-chic wearing a bandana
- table mats
- cushion covers
- hair bands
- scarves, etc
Let's keep the 'bandana fever' growing ..................
My 2009 bandana is dedicated to Lesley - an awesome survivor!

Read this often and live it TRULY!
Life is short,
break the rules,
forgive quickly,
kiss passionately,
love truly,
laugh constantly,
never stop smiling.
No matter how strange life is,
life is not always the party we expect it to be.
But as long as we are here
we should smile and be grateful.

THURSDAY - I FEEL THAT CHRISTMAS MORNING GIDDINESS
I will be taking loads of pics with my new camera and then hopefully posting the evidence of my adventures here - if I can ever figure out how. :)
Some interesting links

Crystals
Crystals are wonderful. They can be used in a wide range of ways to improve your life mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Many, many, many years ago people believed that crystals were thrown from heaven by their ancestors.
Today I will talk about Moonstone. I was privileged to be given a Moonstone bracelet by my dear friend Sindy.
Moonstone has a soft, pearly, cream, yellow, blue luster reminiscent of moonlight. Most Moonstone originates from Sri Lanka. It is highly regarded in India as the perfect gemstone for women to wear. It is believed to be the stone of lunar energy and the feminine spirit.
Healing functions;
- Balances the body's blood and lymph systems (aspects influenced by the elements of water).
- Relieves menstrual cramps and helps generally with female related health issues.
- Relieves indigestion, especially if stress-related.
- Stabilizes the emotions and releases tension.
- Helps us to empathize with other beings.
- Enhances intuition and imagination.
I love collecting crystals and keep my most special ones on the little Altar I have created in my bedroom, together with other special objects that I have collected over the years. Examples of some of these objects are stones, shells, a feather, my fave Buddha, candles, incense, my late mum's little Bible, my fave Kahlil Gibran verse, a tiny painted stone my Papsti picked up on the Bödele while in Dornbirn, etc.
My first port of call every morning is my sacred space. When I sit in front of my Altar, firmly perched on my meditation cushion, my sacred objects seem to have the power to guide and help me through any 'lemons' that life has chucked my way.
Today I am grateful for
- the squirrel I just saw in my garden
- Dr Mac who has the power to sort out Toffee's allergy
- my Altar
- the spinach, apple and orange smoothie I had this morning
- a new job spec I received yesterday from a new client
Wisdom card reading (Louise Hay)
This world is our heaven on earth.
In the new millennium of the aquarian age, we are learning to go within to find our saviour. We are the power we are looking for. Each one of us is totally linked with the Universe and with life.
Have a 'Hummer' of a day.
