Oranges are a great source of iron and they help keep your cholesterol low. In addition to this they are a good source of calcium, which is great for your bones. And, of course, vitamin C to help fight off bacteria and prevent colds and flu. Vitamin C is a great way to fight off airborne germs during the winter months.

Studies have also determined that citrus Limonoids assist in fighting certain cancers such as mouth, skin, lung, breast, stomach and colon cancer.

Other health benefits are;

  • Beta Carotene - a powerful antioxidant guarding the health of our cells.
  • Folic Acid - for brain development.
  • Magnesium to assist keeping blood pressure in balance
  • Potassium to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system and to maintain the electrolyte balance of cells.
  • The food we eat is converted into energy by Thiamin found in oranges.

Important tip;

The pith of the orange has as much vitamin C as the orange, so try to eat as much of the pith as you can.
