- Wait at least two hours after a meal before practicing yoga. Early mornings work best for me either outside next to the pool or in my quiet, peaceful bedroom.
- Allocate a set time each day.
- Practice regularly to gain maximum benefit.
- Create a peaceful environment by lighting candles and incense.
- Turn off phones, televisions, radio etc.
- Wear loose clothing, no shoes, no jewellery, no watch.
- Make sure you work on a non slip surface - it's worthwhile to invest in a yoga mat.
- Build up your practice slowly - your body will guide you.
- Use breath as a guide - if you are breathing quickly, you are probably trying too hard.
- Most importantly HAVE FUN!!!
Inspiration - Sanskrit Poem "The Salutation of the Dawn" (5th century CE)
Our yesterdays are but dreams
our tomorrows merely visions
but today lived well makes
every yesterday a dream of joy,
and each tomorrow a vision of promise ......
